Fancy Biscuits

On Saturday Afternoon Ruth, Cherith, and I made Fancy Biscuits...AKA Petit Fours.

We optimistically began our tasks of preparing the cake batter (which was tasty), the pans in which the cake would bake, and even had a little walk about the neighborhood in our aprons looking for milk (which we were kindly given by a neighbor).

We looked pretty cute.

The cakes turned out very well, albeit a tad slanted.

We figured out a few techniques for making the cakes the proper size for next time.

The difficulty came when it was time to glaze the petit fours.
Let's just say, I am going to be YouTubing "how to ice petit fours" videos.

And...we had so many (and were kind of tired of the whole ordeal) that we took a whole dish full to the Break the Fast Party (end of Lent) at church : )

And yes, I did some documentation of the process:

 Ingredients for Petit Fours!

Cake Edges...Could be biscotti...look like bread sticks.

Trying to figure out the best way to make the petit fours.

The finished product.

We had a fun (and tiring) afternoon making petit fours!

Till next time!

  1. Thanks for sharing this experience with us!

I especially enjoyed the walk in aprons, meeting neighbors, back door screen breezes, cooling cakes outside and lovely company for such a task! And SWEETS! And conversation, like about beards and such. Glad we did it. :)
